Beginning November 6, 2024
3:00 pm - 4:00 pm in the chapel on Wednesdays
The same traditions will continue, that is, bringing up and praying for the concerns of friends, family, our community, the church, the nation and the world through individual and corporate prayers; with special emphasis on how God’s word through the scriptures can enhance our prayers.
New practices for 2024
Also, a new emphasis will be added to the meetings this year. An important focus will be to pray for the success of the upcoming Will Graham Crusade to be held in Fountain Hills, Arizona: "Look Up Celebration" on March 22nd, 2025 at Fountain Park at 6:30 p.m. Prayers for the crusade will include:
- Unchurched (or those who need renewal) to come to Will Graham crusade
- Success of crusade in God’s eyes
- People to invite unchurched friends in community

Matthew 18:19-20 "Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them."
We often begin by sharing things going on in our lives and in the lives of people we know and care about. Sometimes, we offer scripture verses which have spoken to us throughout the week or to the present situation in the community and the world.
We continue by asking for specific prayers for specific needs - of people in the community, our families and in the larger community including the world.
Sometimes but not always we begin by singing a hymn or two as it fits the needs of the group. These are usually simply suggested by anyone in the group. e.g. ‘I would really like for us to sing this hymn’…. Singing seems to just naturally lead us into prayer.
We then voluntarily offer prayers out loud for the things mentioned in sharing time. Each person offers prayers as he or she feels led. After a time of prayer, we close by joining together in the Lord’s Prayer.
