Pastor / Head of Staff

The Full-Time Pastor oversees the Community Church of the Verdes family. The Pastor ministers to the spiritual needs, through preaching and teaching the Word of God as summarized in the Apostles’ Creed with counsel of God and the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Pastor is responsible to our Lord and Savior and the congregation. The Pastor’s immediate accountability group is the Board of Trustees.


The Community Church of the Verdes is an independent inter-denominational church, with a vibrant and engaged congregation. We have a strong education and mission focus, and excellent worship music and concert programs.


Our church is in Rio Verde AZ, which is nestled in the Sonoran Desert, surrounded on three sides by the Tonto National Forest, McDowell Mountain Regional Park, and the Yavapai Apache Nation. While in this tranquil setting, Scottsdale AZ is only minutes away.


In January 2025, members of the congregation identified the following key qualities and duties they desire in a senior pastor:

Audio/Video Intern

The Intern will train directly with our Audio-Visual Operator and will preferably have knowledge and experience of AV equipment including cameras, large screens with laser projectors, video switcher, video recording, sound board controlling up to 10 microphones, sound recording, light control board, and Power Point presentations using a PC connected to a video switcher. To effectively operate the booth requires an above average aptitude in these areas. Training will be available to the candidate who can demonstrate the willingness and ability to learn.

 

The intern will be available for AV equipment operation for Sunday morning worship from 7:30 AM to 9:45 AM, as well as multiple lectures and three concerts (primarily December through March.)  Lectures are held on Mondays at 4 PM, and concerts are held on Fridays at 7 PM.

 

Provide AV operation for the RVCA ASU Lecture Series, held on Tuesdays at 4:00 PM January–March, and for the area Country Club and Community Association meetings, up to 6 are held in our sanctuary annually.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Operate the Sanctuary Sound Board and video projector system for worship services and other events.
  • Set up live streaming as needed.
  • Run slides from Power Point software during sermons and other parts of services as needed.
